INAUGURATION OF THE 42nd WORLD CUP IN WISŁA

For the fourth time, the ski jump with the name of Adam Małysz in Wisła, is honoured to be holding the inaugural competition of the World Cup series in ski jumping. This means that again the organizers have to face the problem of the autumn weather, which is not necessarily helpful for a sport that requires a lot of snow of the best quality.

Wisła-Malinka has been hosting the best jumpers in the world since 2013. It will be no different this fall. Emotions will begin on Friday afternoon, of November the 20th, when the official training and qualifications for the World Cup competition will take place. The World Cup competition will start on Sunday, the November 22th at 16.00. Saturday’s break between individual competitions for the jumpers will be filled up with emotions related to the start of the team competition, which is planned at 16.00.

Although there are less than three weeks left to the competition, preparations for their successful completion have been going on since October 11th. The SUPERSNOW company, a long-term partner of the competition in Wisła, is gradually working on increasing the resources of technical snow to create ideal conditions for jumpers. The most important role in this process is played by the AWS (All Weather Snow) device, which allows the production of snow at high temperatures, and the thermal insulation material that protects the produced snow against the destructive effects of heat.

Last year, the individual competition ended up with a victory for Daniel André Tande, while the Austrians won the team competition. Polish fans could enjoy the lowest step of the podium, won twice.

Waiting for the first jumps, below we present a photo report of the preparations.
